Most of the components in social and industrial infrastructures such as high way, bridge and power plant were constructed at the rapid economic growth period. Degradation of the materials is proceeding during long-term operation as they have been subjected to a load under the extreme environment such as high temperature, high pressure and corrosion. It’s important to measure the damage and to predict the residual life of the components in order to operate them safely. The scope of this division is to evaluate creep, fatigue and creep-fatigue damage and to extrapolate the long-term material strength from short term test data.
